Barre
What is Barre?
Corestar Barre is a conditioning class based on Pilates principals, designed to be a challenging, non-impact fitness class that will produce lean, sculpted bodies.
Our barre classes are based on dance training, but there is no dancing involved. It is a challenging strength and conditioning class that targets every muscle group. Its origins are in ballet, where dancers train for hours perfecting technique at a horizontal handrail called a ballet barre. In Corestar Barre we use a ballet barre, where we stand and gently hold it to use as support in some of the moves. We even use some ballet moves (like plié, relevé and rond de jambe) that target glutes and thighs to tone and strengthen those lovely limbs. Instructors assist with each move and explain the proper alignment so you get the most out of every move.
Barre movements aim at improving range of motion, strength and flexibility in your body. We don’t just work your legs and butt. We also work the arms and back with light hand weights to tone and strengthen the upper body. Strong abs are always part of a good barre routine - all of our classes are based on Pilates, so we have you covered. We take care to stretch between working each muscle group, allowing those muscles to release and lengthen.
Our goal is to teach you in a way that your muscles work correctly in each move and you will be challenged to be stronger. It is a results-oriented class taught in an up- tempo fun group setting. All levels are welcome.
